End of the '09-'10 Season

Well, I am sad to say that yesterday, 30 Apr. 10 was almost certainly the final day of the 2009-2010 Picnic Season, but what a finale it was! The weather gods (Cumulus and Nimbus) gave us the very last of the wonderful spring weather, the high was only 68 with breezes blowing and soft white clouds drifting by in shapes of sleeping cats, swimming ducks and the odd dragon or two.

The Picnic park that we almost always go to was wonderfully devoid of others and so was quiet and peaceful. The birds were present of course but they had decided that they were more interested in other aspects of spring than human picnickers. =o)

Lunch was a lovely combination of fried chicken, (what else but?) and all the goodies that go along with it except the watermelon. (A bit too early for that yet I'm afraid.) TLL and I enjoyed the beautiful day, the tasty food and each other while lamenting the arrival of the summer season.

Don't get me wrong, we both love summer just not summer here. 120 here we come! But we spent time thanking the gods for such a beautiful relaxing day before we both had to return to the world today. As we both return to the business at hand today and the 90 degree temps arrive tomorrow we take comfort from knowing that it is 54 degrees today in Tillamook, OR and likely to rain! Oh how we wish...

Slainte!
